Friday, November 3
  • 11 a.m.–5:30 p.m. — Registration Open
  • 10 a.m.–2:30 p.m. — Preconference Activities (preregistration required)
    • Askinose Chocolate Factory Tour
      Departs: 10 a.m. (transportation provided) | Price: $10

      These tours offers a behind-the-scenes look into the details of what it takes to craft exceptional chocolate, enjoyed by fans across the globe. This informative tour will take you around the factory, allowing you a peek inside the secretive world of chocolate making. They will also provide a concise education on how they make their bean-to-bar chocolate, including their ingredients and the type of equipment utilized. They also discuss their direct trade practices, their community involvement, Chocolate University, and even delve deep into each of their origins. Don’t fret, because they provide plenty of tasty samples of their chocolate at various stages of the process throughout the tour. Tours lasts approximately 45 minutes and you are welcome to shop afterwards with your 10% tour discount. Notice: There are strong magnets in the factory, which could affect a pacemaker, defibrillator, etc.

    •  Cardinal Stadium Tour (12:30PM)
      Departs: 12:30 p.m. (transportation provided) | Price: $10
      The Springfield Cardinals are the Double-A Texas league affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals. They play at Hammons Field, which is located downtown Springfield. This field is also home to Missouri State University’s baseball team. The stadium seats 8,000 with 28 luxury suites, five party desks, and an indoor training facility for both teams. Enjoy a walking tour of this incredible stadium and see where both the MSU Bears and the Springfield Cardinals play.

    • Plaster Student Union Operations/Facility Tour
      Time: 1 p.m. | Price: Free
      Take a behind-the-scenes tour of the Plaster Student Union. Learn how the PSU works from a facilities and operations standpoint.

    • Plaster Student Union Programming Tour
      Time: 1 p.m. | Price: Free
      The Programming Tour will focus on how campus entities program and utilize the Plaster Student Union.

  • 2–3 p.m. —  Newcomer Session
  • 3–4:10 p.m. — Welcome and Keynote
  • 4:25–5:15 p.m. —  Educational Session Block 1
  • 5:30–7 p.m. — Welcome Dinner
  • 7–8 p.m. — Dessert Reception at the Kenneth E. Meyer Alumni Center
  • 8–10 p.m. — Evening Entertainment: First Friday Art Walk

Lodging and Travel


A group rate has been set at the University Plaza Hotel. The hotel offers complimentary parking, an airport shuttle (6 a.m.–11 p.m. daily), an indoor and outdoor pool, fitness center, and more. Missouri State University is located one block south of the hotel. The walk to the Plaster Student Union from the hotel is about 15 minutes. 



The Springfield Branson Airport has four airlines: American, Delta, United, and Allegiant. Take advantage of the free airport shuttle from the University Plaza Hotel (6 a.m.–11 p.m. daily). 

Springfield, Missouri, sits on major highways and I-44. More information to come about parking on-campus.
