Graduate Student Forum
September 29, 9 a.m.–3:30 p.m., Texas State University

This educational program is designed for current graduate students as well as undergraduates interested in a career in student affairs. This is a low-cost professional development and networking opportunity that will include presentations from experienced student affairs faculty and staff. Topics will include emotional intelligence, synergistic supervision, leadership, and more. Presenters include Dr. Paige Haber-Curran, Ted Ingwersen, Dr. Shannon Rae Dean, Daniel Guerrero, and Dr. Skyller Walkes. A light continental breakfast as well as a full lunch will be provided. For those interested in staying a little later, a campus tour and social will be offered at the end of the day.


The fee is $35 for members and $50 for nonmembers.

  • 1:30 p.m. — Third Session: International Leadership in Higher Education
    • Presented by Daniel Guerrero
  • 2:30 p.m. — Fourth Session: Synergistic Supervision
    • Presented by Ted Ingwersen
  • 3:30 p.m. — Closing and Campus Tour (optional)
  • 5 p.m. — AquaBrew Social

For those with a longer travel distance to the event, hotel arrangements are available at Comfort Suites (104 IH 35 N, San Marcos, TX 78666) for $99 per night for a double room. The event hosts have arranged a shuttle to take participants to and from the hotel and the campus. If you will be flying, the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport is a 37-minute drive from campus.
